My Grandfather was born in Nottingham in February 1903 I only have a registration document not a birth certificate. My Great Grandfathers name was George and I assume he was from around the Nottingham, Mansfield area. The name Gadsby appears to be linked to mining originally down in Glocs. I originate from Birmingham and now live in South Wales.
I'm guessing that my Great Grandparents were born around 1875 based on my Grandfathers birth date. My Grandfather was one of about 8/9 children.
I have been in contact with Heanor History Org as I believe my Great Grandparents lived in the area in the 1930-1940's.
My Grandfathers name was Frank Harold and he was married to Audrey Muriel Rhodes, they were married 31st October 1925 in Nottingham my Grandmothers was born Everton, Liverpool.

Thanks for the reply. I got a bit confused and posted twice so I've had two responses both with same information. I'm positive this is my family.
On another note. This data is from the 1911 census does this forum have access to previous census's or do I need to sign up and pay one of the main organisations as advertised on the internet?
If I wanted to obtain Birth, Marriage and Death certificates can I get them through the forum and pay the associated cost or must it be one of the organisations.
Appreciate all your help

Hi and thanks again. As I want to track back further I need to obtain my Great Grandfathers birth certificate which would give me his parents details and then I can look at older census's to hopefully get more information rather than guesswork.
I really want to put together as much as I can before I plan a trip to the area where the family resided. I'm not sure how much I can ask for on this forum without appearing cheeky. What I've had so far is very much appreciated.

think this marriage cert would be safest thing to send for as you should obtain both fathers names
we know frank born 1903 and from the census we know george and florence were married c 1900/1
(1911 census married 10 years) hence the marriage below for dec 1900

1911 Norman Road - Carlton

Fred Gadsby 3 Lenton, Nottinghamshire
Doris Gadsby 9/12 Mapperley, Nottinghamshire

That's Great I really appreciate this information. Looks like the Gadsby's were all named George and were Joiners!.
So that i can continue with my research and hopefully go even further back is it best for me to register with one of the sites like Ancestry, Find my Family and pay to view census's and get certificates etc. I really don't know what's best, I fully appreciate the information that I've received from people on this forum but I don't want to push it too much.
