Humphreys

Post by Davewhitehouse »

Im trying to find out some information about my moms birth mother, My mom was adopted at birth but I have got her birth certificate, was wondering if any of you could help or point me in the right direction.?

My moms birth cert details - 31st March 1946 @ 3 the butts, Warwick - Christina Humphreys - mothers name on vert Joan Humphreys of Croft farm, park road, Bedworth, birth registered on 8th April 1946.

There are no details of the father which could confirm the family story but I think only time will tell

Any help or advice much appreciated !!

Hi Dave is your Mom and her birth Mother still alive :?: If so we cannot put details on living people on here, can lead to identity fraud etc :?: Doubt that any such details would be freely available on line anyway, you would need someone who specialises in adoptions.

Well my mom is not alive and that is her original birth cert details before adoption, when she was adopted in 1946 she was named Mary Christina Gordon and I have no idea about her birth mother if she is alive or dead as we never new them, upon my moms death I have decided to try and find out about her birth mother and that side of the family

Are you near to bedworth as local archive might have info on the farm and occupants also electrol registers will tell you who was living in the house in 1946

I would phone first and ask what years they hold for Bedworth, I believe that during WW2 records were very patchy or not recorded at all.

Oh nice to find someone else with Stafford connections Dave, a lot of changes going on at the moment, we are getting a big new Marks where the Riverside Leisure Centre used to be, that is now up by ASDA. Also a new Morrisons and shops being built at Kingsmead with more Car Parking, definitely on the up. Best Wishes from Linell.
