Post by expat66 »

Lookup from RF .... thankyou again

Just wondering, though ,whether it should be Freeth rather than Finch?

West Midlands Marriage indexes for the years: 1877
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
WALL Paul T FREETH Louisa West Bromwich, Christ Church Sandwell Register Office 23/6/49

27 Dec 1877 Christ Church West Bromwich
Paul Thomas WALL 25 B Engineer Derby? Father Edward Wall Iron Worker
Louisa FINCH 24 S West Bromwich Father James Finch Gentlman
After Banns Both signed
Wit; William Finch / Eliza Darby/Harry? Jones/ Mabel Wall

I found these ...

1871. Albert St, West Bromwich
James Freeth,62,head,married,publican, born Smethwick
Maria,61,wife
William,22, son, unmarried, bundler? in ironworks
Louisa,17,daughter
Others born West Bromwich

1861. Pheasant Inn?? ??, West Bromwich (sorry an't quite make out the address)
James Freeth,52,head,married, publican, born Smethwick
Maria,50,wife
James,21,son,unmarried
Maria,17,daughter, unmarried
Jane,15,daughter
William,13,son,scholar
Louisa,7,daughter, scholar
Joseph Poulton?,29,lodger, ??? can't read occupation)
James Polton?,5,son
Others born West Bromwich

note there is a Thomas Freeth, aged 63, widower living next door with his family .... is he related to James? ... brother maybe?

Thankyou
