it starts today!!!

Post by Rob »

Yes it starts today!! The football season kicks off this afternoon although unfortunately only 2 West Midlands clubs are involved.
My club West Brom have a tough opening match at home to Liverpool for which i'll be grateful if they manage to get one point.
Wst Brom,so my mate Dave tells me,will finish in the top half of the table.Fingers crossed and toes!!
Aston Villa are away to newly promoted West Ham and with 4 new players,3 of whom have been signed from Dutch football, are looking for a better season than last.
I have a feeling Villa are going to do well this year.Ron Vlaar the Dutch centre half is already being confirmed to club icon Paul Magrath.Who knows but i have feeling Villa are going to do well this year. They'll have to improve on last seasonns home form though.
Moving on to lesser things Wolves and The Blues are playing in the Championship.Winston is always glad because he gets to see his beloved Birmingham win now and again!!
They start the season off wth a tough match against newly promoted Charlton Athletic who were streets ahead of any other team last season in Division One.Blues to draw.
Wolves away to Leeds.I see nothing there for them.Let's hope their their new manger Stale Wotsit has more luck than he did in Germany!!

Always been West Brom to me. The Liverpudlians are a tough start though.

I thought they were a far better side than us for at least an hour. Gera's goal was brilliant but Liverpool always looked like leveling the score.

Agger's removal seemed to deflate them and the game was West Brom's from then on.

So it was good to beat the Reds, but I think there was a bit of fragility in defending against a fast passing team.

I thought The Throstles   were lucky that Suarez missed at least 4 chances but it was a brilliant first goal from West Brom and in the end they were the better team.At least that was the feeling i got from watching Match of The Day.
Blues were lucky to get a point and they have Wednesday away on tuesday.Another point?
Wolves lost and i'm concerned about this new manager.
