I was in a pub garden as you do on Summer evenings and with my Shorts on
got horribly bitten by either a mosquito or Black fly or something else.
4 huge bites that started to get a bit septacemia (is that how you spell it
)
Went to docs he said antibiotics in reserve just incase my leg gets worse.
Does anyone know a remedy to speed up the recovery

For insect bites we used to use 'Antishan' cream in A & E - you should be able to get it from chemists. Great stuff to keep handy for insect bites.

Did you find the insect that bit you? It will be the one gagging and spitting.

If you can treat the bite straight away, use After Bite from Boots. It neutralises the poison, although as it contains ammoniac it stings! It also needs to be applied straight away, or it has no effect!

Just a possible prevention idea...
Up here in FNQ (Far North Queensland) they swear by Avon 'Skin So Soft' Bath Oil to stop midges or sandflies biting. It seems to work and this is REALLY important to me as the little $//&Â¥#@! blighters love me and I get big reactions to their bites.
But himself won't use it cos it makes him smell too pretty... And they say women are vain
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Avon ? I'll try that i don't mind smelling pretty. "But warning for everyone keep your long trousers on in the evening in a beer garden or long frocks cos there are lots of creepy crawlies around and not just the blokes! " Also very important is don't go walking through long grass or undergrowth in bare legs!!
