brothers r/2683 william evans and 263014 edward evans from 1 back, 5 nelson street , tat bank are listed in the book 'the fallen of oldbury, langley and warley 1914-18' compiled by langley local history society.

report of edward's death in oldbury weekly news 28th september 1917, worked at british cyanides until october 1916.

report of william's death in oldbury weekly news 17th december 1915, he was killed by a shell burst, with three companions from machine gun section. his brother rflmn j. evans was present at his funeral , so must have been in the same unit!

found a medal index card for r/2681 rifleman joseph evans of the krrc, i would say it is the surviving brother!

looks like joseph and william enlisted together!
