1861 census has,
Pear Street, Blue Bell,
Joseph Willetts, head, 70, Publican
Elizabeth, wife, 67,
Mary, daur in law, 55
Prudence, grand daur, 17, Dressmaker

I think the Mary Daughter in Law aged 55 must be a mistake. Joseph and Elizabeth Married 1834, this Mary was born 1805, more like a Sister In Law?

Prudance as Suki says seems to have grown up in Joseph and Elizabeth's household, if her mother died when she was 8 months old, this would make sense. As Di said, if Elisha Willetts 1814 Married Martha Round, he didn't Marry Susannah Tibbetts, strange this has never been picked up before, how many times has this household been looked at? Linell.

We know there were two Elisha Willetts born about the same time, one of them was the illigitimate son of a Sarah Willetts, who may have also been from Peartree Street and Elisha son of Joseph and Elizabeth. I did check the Cradley Burials, no Elisha Buried there before 1837. So ok one Married Susannah Tibbetts and the other we think Married Martha Round. The only thing that I can think of is Sarah mother of Elisha was connected to Joseph Willetts, so Joseph and Elizabeth had two Elisha's in the family :?: <LOL> Perhaps Sarah died young and Joseph and Elizabeth took him on too :?: Over to you Di..............

Could Elisha have remarried, possible Marys in 1845, Mary Beddowes, Mary Wagstaff

1861 census has,
Pear Street, Blue Bell,
Joseph Willetts, head, 70, Publican

I really think if we could get a look up on the marriage for Elisha with Martha Round and then with Mary Beddowes it will make it more understandable :? .

I notice that Joseph and Elizabeth had a son Joseph, could the daughter in law in 1861 married Joseph Junior, or would the age gap be to much.??

Rite Archive Annie returns... ...crowd go wild.

Now I am coming in sideways at this as not been following it but somat aint rite!

I have looked up a few things on this at the archives and need you Willetts clan to sort it on Connections if ya don't mind.

Ok without further ado.
The marriage in 1845 is the one to this Elisha here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections
Will add marriage to notes in a min on connections.
Now the address is good Peartree lane Street
his age is good
father is Joseph
he is a Widower...so Susannah if that is who he was prev married to must die by feb 1845 and so surely cannot be that one who dies 3 nov 1872 ...will come to that in a bit.
Daniel Willetts is witness on marriage so that must be his bro
So has anyone got this Elisha and Mary on the 1851 or this Elisha and Susannah on 1871
if you have covered this already soz
Now 2 deaths in 1844 and 1845 for Susannah Willetts
but what is odd is that on the burial the info at St Lukes is as follows
6 Nov 1872 Peartree St age 58 Susannah Willetts
So are Peartree lane St and Peartree St one and the same?
does anyone know?
they both are Rowley Regis
Then I looked up the 1834 marriage
not much info
25 Dec 1834 St Thomas Dudley
Elisha Willetts bach otp
Susannah Tibbetts spinster otp
Witness Joseph Tibbetts and John Allen (think he is of the church)

so are there 2 Elishas one married to a Susannah
in which case who was our Elisha son of Joseph who marrid Mary Beddows , married to prev ....
and more importantly
can we sort out on Connections whose kids are whose

Hi y'all

Peartree Lane and Street joined each other. I do recall working taht out from census descriptions and an old map. I think it was arbitrary what one patch of the road was called.

As far as I can see we all agree on this:

Martha Round bpt 16/3/1815 St Giles Benjamin and Prudence Round, New Ross, nailer

Elisha Willetts m Martha Round 8/3/1835 Kingswinford

1841 census
Pear Tree Street
Elisha Willets 25 nail maker
Martha ditto 25
Benjamin 5
Joseph 2
James 6m

Elizabeth Willetts bpt 1/1/1836 St Giles Elisha and Martha Willetts, Lawrences Lane, lab
Benjamin Willetts bpt St Giles 18/6/1837 St Giles Elisha and Martha Willetts, Peartree Lane, nailer
Joseph Willets bpt 28/4/1838 St Giles Elisha and Martha Willetts,m Peartree Lane, nailer
James Willetts bpt 14/2/1841 St Giles Elisha and Martha Willetts, Pear Tree Lane, nailer

Prudence Willetts bpt 18/2/1844 St Giles Elisha and Martha Willetts, Pear Tree Lane, victuallar

Martha Willetts died aged 29 1/10/1844 Pear Tree Street

1851 census
Peartree Street
Elisha 36 chain maker
Mary 45
Benjamin 13
James 9

1861
Pear Street
Joseph Willetts 70 Publican
Elizabeth wife 67
Mary dau in law 55
Prudence grand dau 17

Note that in 1841:
Lawrence Lane
Joseph Willetts 45 nail maker
Elizabeth Willetts 45
Mary ditto 15
Elizabeth ditto 10
Adam ditto 8
(this ties nicely with Elisha and Martha first kid being baptised from Lawrence Lane in 1836

As I see it, Elisha son of Joseph and Elizabeth married Martha Round and had a bunch of children ending with Prudence. Martha died in 1844 and Elisha married Mary (Downes) Beddoes but Prudence was brought up by her grandparents perhaps to begin with.
The 1861 entry has Mary and Prudence living with Joseph and Elizabeth. Mary seems to be widowed with a death Elisha Willets 1853.

It looks as though the tree for Elisha and Susannah Willetts should be disconnected from Joseph and Elizabeth.
That leaves the question:

Who were the parents of Elisha Willetts who married Susannah Tibbetts?
No help from the marriage.

Northernlass found:
25 Dec 1834 St Thomas Dudley
Elisha Willetts bach otp
Susannah Tibbetts spinster otp
Witness Joseph Tibbetts and John Allen (think he is of the church)

Isn't the only contender the one baptised 1814 to Sarah Willetts? There are some earlier though.

ATTENTION

If no one comes up with an argument otherwise then Elisha Willetts who married Susannah will be going parentless as of tomorrow. I will disconnect him and leave his paernts as unknown but with a note about possible Sarah. Then I will put Joseph and Elizabeth as the parents of the other Elisha and put in the marriage and death details as in this post.

How doe sthat sound? You OK with that Di?
I don't see how we can tell who Joseph who married Elizabeth is. There look to be azillion Josephs of the right age in the parish records round and about.

Hi all, the two Elisha's one 1814 baptised to Sarah and one 1815 baptised to Joseph and Elizabeth (think I have the dates right, they are on here on page 1) I believe that Sarah Willetts must be connected to Joseph and Elizabeth, in effect they are one family and somehow all connected. Am lost with Susannah Willetts, isn't she still alive and with Elisha in 1871 :?: Linell.
