Looking for information please.
I have his marriage cert. In 1856 he was a Bachelor, Full age, Miner and living at the time in Dudley.
Father also John, was a labourer

Initially, I found him in 1861, but thought it must be the wrong one cos he was not a Miner :? Fair enough, he's a colliery engine driver in later census.....

I'm bothered by the fact that the father of John is on his marriage cert in 1856 but isn't even alive in 1841 - wouldn't it have said deceased?

I would have thought that father would be down as deceased but have found that marr records miss info off!
