Made me feel very sad, have had and still have various family going through the Stroke Care problem. My Mother is like the chap who lost his wife 17 months ago and can't get on with her own life. Thankfully I don't know anyone as poor as that 62 year old woman but I know they exist and many even worse off. Not a rosy picture at all.

I'm 60 next year and it really made me have another think about making the most of life. I went through this phase, when I was 50 and decided it was time I started pushing the boundaries, before it was too late and I've done some fairly whacky and surprising things since then. So now I'm starting again, pushing things even further. I don't like water that much and certainly don't like heights, so while my Granddaughter was having a swimming lesson, today, I went up the high water slide, nearly died and then launched myself off it. And then did it again and again and again.
I think, to keep yourself young, you need to try to surprise yourself, every day if possible.

Wish I could run, I'd love to but my knee joints have always been dodgy.

Now cycling I like but I gave my bike to my neighbour, as the roads are just to scary around use. Nutters like to tear round the country lanes, like it's a rally. There are regular cyclist fatalities. My neighbour wanted the bike for where they keep their caravan. We have virtually no real cycle paths around Worcester. Now here, in Germany, there are cycle paths though the river valley for miles and miles. I could cycle all the way to Koblenz from here in Wallau, though the most beautiful countryside.

An old bloke is sitting in his Doctor's office.

THe Doc says, "I have two pieces of bad news. The first is you have incurable cancer."

The old bloke starts wailing and crying out he doesn't want to die and how unfair it is etc etc.

This goes on for a good ten of fifteen minutes before he calms down enough to ask the Doctor what the second piece of bad news is.

"You also have advanced dementia" announces the Doctor.

"That's bad but thank God above I don't have incurable cancer!" exclaims the old bloke.

Nothing worse than being retired and rich with several young mistresses waiting for you at home and you can't remember your address.
