I have located my great-grandfather's brother's son's birth (1898) and marriage certificates (1926) via Ancestry.co.uk. However, I can find no trace at all of his death certificate anywhere.
On that basis he's still employed in the City of London as a Police Constable at the ripe old age of 111.....

You could try goggling the area he lived in.. I just put in London burials 1940 - 1970 and heap came up, worth a try.
I live in my own little world. But it's ok....they know me here!
