ARC TBC - Tommy Jones - Boatman
Is this Tommy Jones the boatman mentioned in "Billy and Loz's" song posted in The Snug?
I'm thinking it's John Thomas Jones born 1895.
Polly Jones married Edward Murray who i think maybe Billy's grandmother.
16 Eel Street is where i was born and Tommy Jones and his wife "Aunt May "lived at number 20 Eel Street in the 50's.

Re: Tommy Jones - Boatman
Not really NL.The initial question was "is this Tommy Jones the boatman from the Billy and Loz song?"
I spoke to my mom yesterday and she said he, John Thomas Jones, didn't work on the boats as far as she could remember.
She said he went by the nickname of "Likely Lad" and no one knew him as Tommy.( personally i think she's wrong about "The Likely Lad "i'm sure he lived at the top of Eel Street.)
I wish i'd have asked my dad these things cos he drank with them all in The Bottom and Travellers Rest.
So who was Tummy Joones The Boatman?
