What doesn't come across in that song is, what a cheeky little chap Billy is. This is another sad one and I have to admit to shedding a tear or two on this one, as I have just found her in the Sedgley Workhouse at the age of 70, having been widowed twice. It's worth turning up the volume listening to the words on this one. I think many of us have found an Ancestor or two in the Workhouse. Hard Times indeed.

This shows Billy in a happier mood, pity the sound is somewhat spoiled by the wealthy audience shaking their jewellery. I love the bit where Lozz extends the instrumental bridge to catch Billy out.

Brian Dakin aka Billy Spakemon came from our estate up Cakemore. He lived just round the corner from me but was too young to play football with us although his cousins Ray and Keith did.
They were from Portway Road originally just around the corner from Eel Street.
' Tummy Juuns the bowtmon ' in the song lived two doors up from me.

I saw he was a Pro Footballer for 4 years, so must have been fairly good. He is a very talented man, as is Lozz. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing them.

That Michael Wood programme starts on Friday, at 9pm. Don't know which episode the Black Country bit will be in but sounds as if it will be an interesting series.
