This might be worth starting another thread - GWK Griffiths was Alderman George Griffiths, and he was mayor of the Borough of Dudley 1964/65. There is a fabulous portrait of him in Dudley Town Hall. His wife was known as Maisie but I don't know much else about her, They lived by the Council Offices near Haden Hill Park. My mam thinks that they lived in the house next door to Georges parents.

William George Kendall Griffiths.
William George K Griffiths

He was always known as George and very often dropped the Kendall bit. When he was on Dudley Council he was known as Alderman George Griffiths and had a big hand in setting up the Charitable Trust for the Mary Stevens Hospice in Wordsley.
