Memories ....

Just been reminded of this - such a "gem"

The clip is from the Mikado, performed at the Alex in Birmingham abt 1995. I'm sure it was an anniversary production - have to find the video I bought later.

I love a bit of G & S. it's just great fun, although there is a song from Yeoman of the Guard that always makes me cry, at the end, when Jack Point, the Fool, dies of a broken heart in the Finale. Hard to find a decent version, the best I've seen was about 40 years ago at Stourbridge Town Hall. http://youtu.be/PmIh7JtzaYM

I do like a bit of operetta. My cousin and her mom belong to the Brierley Hill Operatic Scociety - they put on some really good shows.

My niece appeared as Anita in West Side Story there a couple of years ago - I had the "pleasure" of making the costumes..... all those dresses :-)

Which reminds me, I have a sewing machine, I think it's about time I got to grips with it, the last dress I made myself was a Maternity dress. (1975)

If you want to practice a bit - we'll be looking for staff after the summer holidays :-)

I'm going to a wedding in June and saw some lovely shoes - cream with black lace over. So I've been in to Birmingham and get the same cream satin with some black lace to go over. Haven't decided on the style yet, but probably cream trousers with a cream and black lace top. Looking at pictures at the moment for inspiration.

I'd probably very quickly put you out of business.

The wedding outfit idea sounds good.
