Tracing the Norman side of the family

Post by dick48 »

Hi

I am trying to trace my Paternal Grandmother's side of the family, her name was Emma Louisa Norman, born 4 Oct 1889 in Tytherton, Wiltshire & died 16 Mar 1976 in Shifnal, Shropshire, she married my Grandfather, Ernest Harold Dyke born 4 Aug 1888 in Langley Burnell, Chippenham, Wiltshire & 7 Jan 1973. They married Dec 1912 Bristol, Avon. My Grandfather with his wife & three children settled in Northfield, Birmingham (two of the children were born in Bristol and the other in Birmingham) and in 1950 moved and settled in Shifnal, Shropshire. I was born in Blackheath.

My Great Grandparents were William Norman born 20 Jan 1848 in Heddington, Wiltshire & died 15 Dec 1917 and Mary Ann Hunt born 13 June 1849 Mile Clen, Wiltshire & died Feb 1932. They Married 10 April 1871.

I have hit a brickwall in trying to research my Grandmother's brother, Charles John Norman born 4 Mar 1891 in Tytherton, Wiltshire, I know he married, his wife's name was Ginnie (I would think this is a shortened name for Virginia). I cannot find a marriage record for them and therefore no children, I am assuming the marriage took place after 1911 since it doesn't appear on the 1911 Census. I think they settled in the black country during the 30's / 40's. I do know from memory that Uncle Charles lived in Droitwich, Worcester and probably died there. I would also like to trace any living relatives.

Can anyone help?
