Returner X 4

Post by Kleftiwallah »

I try, I get disheartened and the clipfile folder goes back in the cupboard to be forgotten for another ten years.
This is the fourth attempt.

Surname is Oakes-Phillips. I was told Phillips at birth but searching got me nowhere, a visit to a very elderly lady in Chelmsford? Told me "Your name isn't Phillips, it's Oakes". Your Dad ran away from home in about 1913! Well I'm off trying again, I've found a treasure in the Wiltshire family history thingy. One of the ladies knows the area of London where my Dad was brung up.

I may get somewhere this time. Cheers, Tony.

When I meet up with my Dad, either up there or down there, he is going to get 'such a slap' ! ! !

Hopefully with your help I'll discover enough to get sufficient information about 'his bunch'. What is annoying is that my Mother's family tree has been researched back about as far as you can get, with their own website and all that. (Bimson, if you want to 'ave a shufti).

Cheers, Tony.

Keep at it Kleftiwallah.
I was stuck on mothers family for over 5 years. I know how frustrating it can be!
I managed it in the end though.
I'll gladly help with any lookups if you need any doing.

Just had a thought. Not sure of the etiquette here. So apologies if someone else deals with that.
