wife of Ephraim Dearne born abt 1819

Post by expat66 »

I have added this Dearne family to BCC ..
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... i=46407721

It gets a bit confusing because there is another Ephraim Dearne born 1815 (rather than 1819) here ..
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections

alot of the names and birthdates are similar so I hope I haven't got households mixed up!

Anyway ... going back to the Ephraim born in 1819...
on this census...

1851 14 Hadleys Building,Harborne
Ephraim Durn,32,head,married, carpenter,born Smethwick
Mary,29,wife, born London
William,2,son, born Smethwick
Joseph, 7months, son, born Smethwick
Margaret Farrel,12,sister in law,born London

...his sister in law is listed as Margaret Farrel
... so is his wife's maiden name Farrel ?

can't find the marriage
Can anyone else see a possible?

I am also stuck on the marriage for the son William ( married to unknown Mary) if anyone can spot that one

Why are the wives nearly always unknown Marys ?

I think it is possible that Ephraim Dearne born 1819 is the son of William Dearne born 1796 ( a carpenter)
and that William may have been the son of Charles Dearne born 1757.... still working on those connections but if anyone has any extra info. that would be great

Thankyou
Expat

Since these are direct ancestors of mine I will try and unravel the Dearn(e) families.

St John The Baptist, Halesowen records have over 130 burials for Dearn(e) family members so that is good place to start....

The two Ephraims in 1861. They are fairly easy to tell apart and the children are different enough to avoid confusion.....
