James Henderson Crichton 1870 Sanquhar

My Great Grandfather James Henderson Crichton was a most unpleasant man by all accounts
However I am still keen to find out more but am struggling.
He was the son of Agnes Henderson and I believe George Crichton. However I can't seem to find out any more than that.
He married Helen Reid and moved to Ireland where the had 5 children before moving back to Scotland.
Not sure what happened from there but he had 4 children with my great grandmother Mary Robertson (nee Love). Family rumour is they never married. My grandma was Helen Crichton born in 1915.
Anything anyone can add would be really appreciated.

This information is amazing and I am going to sit down and study it now.

The thing jumping out at me is that he may have lived with the LOVE family for a time.

My great grandmother was a Love so that could be a great clue.
