Shilvock to Willetts to Mondon to Allen connection

Post by mumbles »

This Eliza Shilvock

http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =490252565

is I believe this Eliza Shilvock

http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =125105938

Reasoning :- Her brother was Joseph Shilvock and her sister Mary Ann Shilvock married a Joel Hall both of whom appear as lodgers with George and Eliza in 1861 :-

1861 Census New Street Hasbury Stourbridge Worcs.
George Willetts Head 24 Gun Barrell Filer born Rowley Regis
Eliza Willetts wife 20 Nailer
Caroline Willetts dau 4mths.
Joel Hall Lodger 20 Spade Maker born Hasbury Worcs.
Joseph Shilvock lodger 17 Nailer born Hasbury Worcs.
Rest born Halesowen Worcs.

In turn I can link Isaac Willetts a son of George and Eliza to Ellen Allen who married a Thomas Mondon before marrying Isaac Willetts ( All on bcc)

Linell
Thomas Mondon or Mundon is a difficult surname as I have only found a few records but I am still trying

Marriage I am working from :
Halesowen St. John
9/10/1881 Thomas Mondon 20 Bach. Labourer of Lapal father Henry Labourer
Ellen Allen 20 sp. 20 Nailer of Hasbury father Francis Allen Miner
Witnesses :- Joseph Hipkiss and Eliza Williams

Have found 1891 census for Thomas Mundon and Eliza and children
and 1901 Census for Issac Willetts and Ellen and stepchildren Mondon
and 1911 Census
Not found Thomas and Father before marriage

Isaac I can trace back to his father George Willetts and Eliza Shilvock

Thanks Mumbles that is really interesting, I knew the Halesowen Mundon family, my friend Married a Mundon from Hasbury, I actually spoke to him on the phone recently, should have asked for his family history. Cheers from Linell.

Yes please NL
I will add the Mondon details although surname keeps changing
I think Linell is right with Mundon . I used Mondon because a Mondon already on bcc

Thanks farside for the Mondon details

I found one more

1861 Gosty Hill Rowley Regis Dudley Staffs.
William Timins Head Labourer
Selina Timins wife 55 born Halesowen
William Monday grd.son 9 scholar
Rest born Rowley Regis

I think that confirms Timmins / Mondon Link

All added and thanks everyone

Have used Mondon as it was most frequently used
but I seem to remember Mundons in Black Country and was there not a Tommy Mundon who used to write for Black Country Bugle ?
