Someone who has access to the 1911 census by address could perhaps check Chapel Street and see if there were any North/Holmes families there?

electrol register check on the address of birth cert and year 1918 might tell you if father in residence and if thats the first name he using

After speaking with my mam last night I now have Charles Norths army number from ww2.
I also have the four medals he won during the war, so a little bit more info.

Would an army record give last address before he joined up???

where can i look at army records from ww2???

Also on the birth cert under mothers name it has, Lily North Late north ne Holmes.
what does this all mean??

Thanks

Paul

Hi,

When it says 'late', I've found that it usually means that the woman has been married before, and widowed.

So her previous married name would have been North, worth looking for an earlier Holmes/North marriage, then a death for the groom.

Agree with Cid. May be she married brother or relative?

May be this may help?
