Tapson

Post by Saranna »

Is anyone here researching Tapson? It was my mother's maiden name and is a single-origin surname from Devon. I have a lot of information but just thought it would be nice to exchange greetings - all Tapsons are related to each other, like it or not

Hello!!

I am descended from the Tapson/Ebsworthys :)

My 3x great-grandmother was Harriet Ann Tapson b.1823, she was descended from Nicholas Tapson b.1779, Ebsworthy Tapson b.1758, Ebsworthy Tapson b.1714, Nicholas Tapson b.1668, Robert Tapson b.1636, Nicholas Tapson b.1604, Robert Tapson b.1565. Phew that was a long list of Tapsons lol!

I have found this line so interesting, I have been in contact with Robert Searle Tapson who has written the book on the Tapsons, would love to get a copy one day.
I am trying to get as much info on my Tapson and Ebsworthy line as I can.

Tapson

Post by MandyMel »

Hello

I have recently found out that Tapson is in my family tree, I believe my great Grandmother's maiden name was Tapson, for around Tavistock area. I would love to see any information on the family tree Tapson. I believe they were tin miners back in the 1500-1800s. My Mum recently found a photo of a grear grandmother stoof out side a Tapson family house which was 'something hall' in Devon.

Best wishes
