Off to hospital ina couple of hours....

Post by MarkCDodd »

Getting a 9cm tumour removed from my neck.

Its a bit dodgy for me going under full anaesthetic so my kids are very worried its a one way trip.

Usually I have twilight anaesthetic but that is not possible in this case. (And I don't want to wake up in the middle of this operation like I did last one...the nurse got a shock when I tapped her on the shoulder  )

I am pretty OK with the whole thing and am more concerned about what the tests on the tumour show.

Hopefully it is benign but it certainly grew fairly quick.

We don't need another cancer patient in the family right now....

Typing on my phone so forgive any punctuation mistakes. AT the last minute we decided to go for sedation and local anaesthetic. That was not a pleasant experience. It took a lot longer than expedited and not without a lot of pain. I have 30 stitches and two drainage tubes. I am not allowed to leave till bleeding stops. 24 hours later and the bleeding is still severe. Waiting on the biopsy results.
