UPDATE..................Black Country Harveys--Jo adding

Post by barb46 »

Hi All!
I'm new to the forum, so hello everyone, I'm hoping you can use your expertise to help with my research into my husband's maternal line, the Harveys. I've done a reasonable amount of research on my own and was thrilled to find the BCC website which seemed to be showing the very same family of Harveys.
Grangers14 has encouraged me to post a new topic and says that it's ok to go into detail, so here goes.....

Edna Harvey Born Rowley Village, Rowley Regis 11.4.1923 - 21.1.1992 X Allen Fletcher
parents
William Harvey Coal Miner Born Powke Lane, Rowley Regis 24.12.1894 - 15.2.1957 X Sarah Chatwin
parents
John Harvey Coal Miner Born Tipton, Staffs. 3.4.1869 - ? X Sarah White
parents
Thomas Harvey Coal Miner Born Oldbury Worcs. c. 1832 - ? X Mary Ann Newman
parents
John Harvey Coal Miner Born Oldbury Worcs c. 1811 - ? X Sarah Steventon

The above details and dates are as far as I'd got on my own before finding the BCC site.
On the BCC it appears that there are two entries for John Harvey baptised in 1809, numbered 135 and 136. This is where I got confused as the notes added by Jan on JH 136 seem to refer to "my" JH in 1841, but the other JH 135 has "my" JH's correct place of baptism. Is it possible that the two JH's are one and the same and that the Worcs/Shropshire difference in the place of baptism is due to county boundary changes?
Both the BCC and the IGI agree on Samuel and Roseanna Harvey being John Harvey's parents, but then seem to disagree on Samuel and Roseanna's parents. The IGI has William and Johanah Harvey while the BCC has Job and Esther Harvey.
Please can anyone help me with this?
Best Regards,
Barb46

HI and welcome

right so we have here on Bcc

Job and Esther Harvey as parents of Samuel Harvey
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... i=80807000

notice Samuel calls dau Esther harvey .............so that looks ok for samuel being son of Job and Esther.

then we have samuel and Rosannah having John Harvey 1809
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =939344745

so what we want to know is is he the same as this John Harvey
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... vey-Family

no idea we need to have some evidence to connect.

can anyone give the marriage info pls from transcripts for Samuel and Rosannah marriage
