TAYLOR

Post by SOS53 »

I have a birth of 6/4/1809 for Abel Taylor - Yardley and his marriage to Ann Hall - Compton at St Phillips, Birmingham in 1826. How do I find out about their parents. I think... that Abel's parents are Thomas Taylor B1785 and his mother Sarah Stringer B1785 but cannot verify this. Can anyone help - do you have to go to St Phillips for this information, or can you do it online. Many thanks for any help I receive.

The marriage entry has been transcribed twice by FamilySearch so I doubt there would be additional information in the Parish Register.

Unless non-conformist or Catholic, you will rarely see the parents names mentioned in the marraige record in the Parish Register until later in the century.

Mark many thanks for your really good reply. It does confirm that Thomas and Sarah were his parents. I now have to find out about Thomas. I wonder why they had such a connection with St Phillips when they lived around Yardley area, especially with Yardley's old church being close by. Again thanks.
