They're both good games to watch. But somehow the League internationals don't match up to the Union ones.

Poor first half from England - too slow. And Italy made a decent fist of it before finally succumbing. I'm still pretty sure about my predictions despite England being on top of the table so far.

Hmm.
Which particular bit was rubbish?
Was it "They're both good games to watch."
or "But somehow the League internationals don't match up to the Union ones."
or was it "Poor first half from England - too slow." given that the score at half time was 12 - 6 to Italy and the England backs had hardly moved beyond the gain line in organised play until Dickson and Morgan came on in the second half and England moved up a gear.
Or maybe it was "And Italy made a decent fist of it before finally succumbing." again I would suggest that the half time score suggests my analysis as being reasonably accurate, and even after England's second half improvement if it hadn't been for the loss of a couple of Italy's finest (Castrogiavanni & Burton - don't forget the replacement kickers woeful attempts) the England win would have been far more difficult.
But perhaps you're querying "I'm still pretty sure about my predictions despite England being on top of the table so far." In which case I would point to Wales overcoming of Scotland this afternoon, the fact that England's wins have been struggles against the two poorest teams in the competition and that the other two teams in contention have to find a rematch at some time that will put both of them at a disadvantage.
........We won ?
I think you'll find we did - just.

Look out all, the world is changing - SRD's predictions are still on track!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It took Ireland a while to get going but once they'd got their act together I reckon it's look out France.
Good game from the young England team too, they kept Wales pretty close and but for fortune might have beaten them. I don't think the RFU need look any further for their new coach. Wales did really well when they were down to 14 men and I think that was the turning point, England not being able to take advantage of numbers must have both dispirited the Whites and given massive encouragement to the Reds.
So - are Scotland going to make fools of the French? I doubt it.
