*Arc * -Edward Griffiths 1824ish
Ok just looking at this Edward Griffiths that links to Nutsy.
Do we already have him on the site?
On the 1881 census he is age 50 so b abt 1831- born Bewdley
and on the 1871 census he is age 47 so b abt 1824- born Shrops unknown.
it is the same guy on both census as kids check out here...
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections
He probably marries Elizabeth Tromans and I think she may already be on site here....
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections
there is a marriage which is down for look up....here...
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =896895307
that will give me the father for both.
But Edward may be the one on site already here.....

Re: Edward Griffiths b either 1824ish or 1831 ish
Rite got them on the 1851 will post in a min
but living with them is a Thomas massey nephew
so then I found a marriage Kings norton in 1839 to
Ann Griffiths and Edward Massey.... I think so anyway..lots of others on page but they were the ones I was looking for a Massey and Griffiths
I am not totally convinced that wife to Edward is a Tromans...will see wot marriage says for age of Edward and occup
and I dont think that Edward belongs now to John Griffiths and Mary ann Baker.
Edward consistantly puts Shropshire in 51/61/71
I think Ann Griffiths must be a sister
can anyone find this Ann Griffiths bapt?
1851 Cradley Heath Staffs
Edward Griffiths h mar 26 Stoneminer b Haughton Shrops Parish

Isaac Ward son 10mths b RR
same hse
Thomas Massey nephew 9 chainmakers assistant? b RR
Thomas Bodfield 24 lodger widow stoneminer b Highley Shrops
James Ward 23 lodger Chainmaker b Dudley worcs
can anyone sort out this lot above?
Did Thomas Bodfield marry rellie of Edward?...from same area in Shrops

and can anyone find this Edward b Salop/Shrops on the 1841 census please?

Re: Edward Griffiths b either 1824ish or 1831 ish
I have proof that Elizabeth was most definately Tromans. I was 100% sure before I contacted my relative, but now there is no doubt, as we have marriage and birth certificates for Ann Sophia who is one of the daughters of Edward and Elizabeth Griffiths and who was also my Great Grandmother.
Ann Sophia Griffiths married Joseph Harris on 4th January, 1879 in Halesowen. Joseph was 20 and Ann Sophia 19.
Ann Sophia died in Ipswich Queensland on 29th June 1934 and was born on 11th January, 1860 in Cradley Heath.
Her eldest brother Benjamin married Roseanna Smith on 13th December 1869 at St Thomas Dudley.
Then her younger sister Elizabeth married Edward Willetts on 25th December 1884.
The Elizabeth and Edward has been confirmed by their Great Grandson and Benjamin and Roseanna confirmed by a relative who also confimed the Elizabeth TROMANS.

Re: *Arch pend lookup *-Edward Griffiths 1824ish or 1831 ish
I have added that Samuel and Fanny marriage to check out who the father is
we need to confirm via census or look ups -or certifs
cos so many trees have inaccurate info.
So will let you know
wouldnt mind delving into that Joseph Harris ....are his parents John Baker and susannah and do then link to any on connections
opening up a new thread...min

Re: *Arch pend lookup *-Edward Griffiths 1824ish or 1831 ish
Rite just to fill in the blanks here and put the info straight......
Edward Willetts did indeed marry an Elizabeth Griffiths but that Eliz Griffiths is not the dau of Edward Griffiths
the Eliz that married Edward had a father William Griffiths...
plus
Samuel Willetts who married Fanny Jackson did not have father Isiah but a father William Willetts
I dont want to run on this thread with the Willetts I will open up a new post for those look ups to keep the threads clear...
so that completes the Willetts ......on here.....
Now then EDWARD GRIFFITHS
I think I might have actually screamed with despair at the archives cos there was NO father for Edward on the Certif
I couldnt believe it!!
So this is what it said.....
14 Jan 1847 St Thomas Dudley
-Edward Griffiths- of full age- bach- miner- Dudley- ( Jans notes no father was named on cert)
-Elizabeth Tromans - of full age- spinster- Dudley- Benjamin Tromans- Chainmaker
banns
X of both
Wit- Joseph Watts? and Hannah Watts?
this I believe links the elizabeth we already have on site to this one so I am joining up with notes
here is Edward griffiths and Elizabeth wife....
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections
and here is Benjamin tromans and dau eliz...

So, from that I gather that the Griffiths and Willetts are not connected?
