John Mckeown and son help needed ARC TBC

Post by dazwhites2003 »

Hi. I am trying to find some information about my great great grandfather. His name was John Mckeown (no birth or death date at the moment but I believe he died before 1919), his son was also called John Mckeown born 1882 married to Jane Walker in 1919 in Chorlton, they had two children John Mckeown born 1921 and Joseph born 1928. I have been told that my great great grandfather's father was originally from Ireland and moved to England before John was born. This is all the information I have so its rather difficult to research, just hoping someone with more experience than me may be able to help? Infact any more information reguarding any of the above John Mckeown's would be amazing!
Many thanks
Darren

Yep got his sons marriage certificate through. John Mckeown married Jane Buckley 6th or 16th of Sept 1919 at St Annes Catholic Church Openshaw, this originally gave me the name of my great great grandfather, his profession was a blacksmith and he is down on the certificate a deceased at the time of the marriage. So all i know is my great great grandfather in named John Mckeown, was a blacksmith and died before 1919. Having trouble trying to find a birth or death date for him plus there are a number of John Mckeown's in the census records, one of which I sure is him.

The marriage certificicate is for John Mckeown age 37 (1882) and Jane Walker Buckley age 33 (1886), she had been previously married hence the two names. Married 1919 at St Annes Catholic Church. I believe Johns profession was a dyer, Janes profession left blank. Johns residence at time of marriage was Salford and Janes was Droylsden. Johns father's name was also John Mckeown he was a blacksmith - deceased and Janes was James Walker- deceased. The witnesses present were Samuel Walker and Agnus Smith. The Jane Mckeown I am looking for is Johns daughter from his first marriage, before he married Jane Buckley. Just some happens there are two Janes in the equation which does confuse things.

Does any of this help/make sence
