I noticed on Black Country Connections only limited info on my great grandfather and his wife. I do not know how to add to this so here is the info in case someone else can do it. Caroline

JOSEPH MASSEY
Birth 1870 in Old Hill Rowley Regis, Dudley, Staffs
Death 15 March 1946 in 58 St Dunstans Crescent, Worcester (his rented home)
1871 Census Age: 1 - Elbow Street, Rowley Regis, Staffordshire
1881 Census Age: 11 - 3 Dudley Street, Rowley Regis, Staffordshire. Scholar
1891 Census Age: 21 - 92 Garretts Lane, Old Hill, Rowley Regis, Staffordshire. Ironworks Labourer
14 SEP 1895 Age: 25 Marriage to Eliza Jones St Giles Parish Room, Rowley Regis, Staffordshire - Joseph was described as a labourer. Eliza no profession. His father James as an inspector and her father James as a Watchman
1901 Census Age:31 he was staying with members of his congregation on Census night.
1911 Census Age: 41 - 51 Lisvane Street, Cardiff, Glamorgan - 1911 census says E Massey but I know that they were living in Lisvane Street at a late date. E is Eliza and Joseph was back in Old Hill on the census night. 15 MAR 1946 Death Age: 76 - 58 St Dunstans Crescent, Worcester (his rented home) Bronchopneumonia. Metastasis of malignant glandular tumour of the neck. He died at home. Reported by James R. Massey (called Ray) his son who was present. Last occupation Evangelist at the Welcome Mission, Worcester.
18 Mar 1946 Buried at Astwood Cemetery, Worcester. Section 29 'Hayrick' plot s14071a but no markings left on the plot by 2009
24 Mar 1946 His memorial service 6pm Wesley Methodist Church, Old Hill, Staffordshire. At another date in 1946 there was another memorial service at the Welcome Mission, Friar Street, Worcester (his mission 1935 - 1948) and they unveiled a memorial plaque. Family were present.

Joseph was described as a labourer. Eliza no profession. His father James as an inspector and her father James as a Watchman.

29 Dec 1929 Death Age: 56 - Acute Secondary Anaemia & Chronic Colitis Last Address 51 Lisvane Street, Cardiff. Interred in Cardiff Cemetry on 1st January 1930. She died at home. Death registered by son Hugh who was in attendance.

Ray and Elsie had no children.

HUGH PRICE MASSEY
Born 11 AUG 1903 at the family home 34 Wrights Lane, Old Hill. Rowley Regis. Father Joseph Massey Evangelist Minister. Mother reported the birth and seems to have signed.

09 DEC 1922 Marriage to Phyllis Mary Gregory Registry Office, Cardiff Hugh was a coal exporter"™s clerk and lived at his parents home 51 Lisvane Street, Cardiff. Phyllis lived at her family home H.61 No 2 Road, Ely, Cardiff. His father Evangelist and her father was a gas worker.
Address 1937 until 1985 18 Cambourne Avenue, Whitchurch, Cardiff.
08 FEB 1985 he died at The University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff of Bronchopneumonia, Chronic Bronchitis & Emphysema. Reported by Caroline Mary O'Callaghan, grandaughter. He was cremated at Thornhill Crematorium in Cardiff 15th Feb 1985.
Occupation: Jobs included working for Sir Clifford Cory as a junior clerk, he worked at St Mellons and finally in charge of pensions / disability / compensations for The National Coal Board Cardiff
Hugh"™s wife: Phyllis Mary Gregory Birth 27 Nov 1904 born at home 37 Mill Street, Abergavenny Monmouth
Death 01 May 1989 in the Mowbray Nursing Home, 9 Victoria Road, Great Malvern, Worcestershire. Phyllis died from a cerebrovascular accident and her senile dementia contributed to her death.
Hugh & Phyllis"™s child: Phyllis Edna Massey born 14 Jan 1923 at 61 H.2 Road, Ely, Cardiff her maternal grandmother"™s home died 01 Jan 1984 at 32 Sidney Road, Walton on Thames, Surrey. Phyllis known as Gerrie suddenly died at the home of friends from a ruptured developmental cerebral aneurysm.

we only have what we have added to Bcc so we don't have everything.
We have to verify the info too before it goes on Bcc.
