This is the one whose mother is Mary Penn, NL, hence his middle name.
There is another Joseph P Plant in Rowley Regis, but he's different as far as I can see, I don't know who he belongs to.
Elizabeth Parry b. 1874 was the wife of Isaiah Plant b. 1873, parents of May Plant who died in Minnesota.
(Or was May's mother Amy Haynes? We don't yet know.)
What is confusing here is that there are at least three separate Black Country Plant families which may have been connected back in the 16th century but by the 19th weren't, other than through a number of marriages. Isaiah Plant b. 2 Apr 1873 is in the line that goes back to Benjamin Plant d. Dec 1682 Halesowen, that's the line I'm descended from, sometimes called the "geographical" line because of the proliferation of Dudley, Richmond and Warwick first names in it. Joseph Penn Plant 1843-1895 who married Mary Elizabeth Long was the son of Peter Plant and Mary Penn, not in my line, a line which goes back to James Plant 1712-1775 and Esther Leah 1714-1782 - we've never got back beyond James to make a connection with the "geographicals"! But there are, as I said, occasional "intermarriages" between those lines.
