*Arch * -Myrah Yardley (1833-1892)

Post by Neville Bastable »

Myrah Yardley of an old chain making family was baptised on 27th January 1834 at Cradley Particular Baptist Church and died 9th October 1892. She was buried at St Paul's Church, Blackheath. She had married Edward Sampson Bastable (1833-1890) at St Thomas's Church, Dudley on 21st September 1851. They were my greatgrandparents.
They had 12 children. One of these my grandfather was Samuel Edward Bastable (1860-1943). He married Matilda Massey (1862-1922) on 15th March 1885 at Holy Trinity Church, Old Hill.
Of their chidren my father was Joseph Clarence Bastable (1901-1980) who married Cissie White (1906-1995) at Trinity Methodist Church, Cradley in 1928.
I would like to offer the above for possible inclusion in bc connections and should point out that Myrah already exists there.

Many thanks to colleagues for their contributions. I am a new member and am amazed at the response. Thanks also to Linell for her kind words. I have been asked to comment on the connections tree. Just to say that my great grandfather (married to Myrah) is referred to as Samuel. There is no doubt he is Edward Sampson. This is confirmed in the many messages quoting censuses. Charles Yardley from Cradley Heath is also mentioned in the messages as is Thomas Yardley. These I believe are two of her brothers.
I'm going to take this opportunity of advising the names of the spouses of Myrah's children, some of which I think you have already.
Ann was married to William Grosvenor.
Edward Charles to Comfort Siviter.
Charles Edward to Ruth ? ( I never did know her maiden name)
Samuel to Matilda Massey.
Jane Lucretia to Joseph Law who died. Her 2nd husband was Samuel Shaw.
Myrah Edith to Samuel Bastable (a distant cousin)
Sarah Ann to William Field
Sampson to Jane Foster.
Elizabeth I'm afraid I don't know !
Mary Hannah married John Thomas Parkes.

Two children namely Joseph (1859) and Mary Anna (1863) died in infancy.

Seems as if I may have found one or two relatives already. What a wonderful site this is !

Ok changed that and will let you add the rest

I have linked the Comfort siviter in.
1875
BASTABLE Edward SIVITER Comfort Dudley, St Thomas Dudley Register Office 204/032/357

But anymore that need linking ...ie that are already on but need connecting to yours via marriage...let me know and I will linkthem....it is quite easy once you get the knack of it!

For eg Samuel Shaw there is one on the site already is this the one that marries Jane? if so we need to link it
and so on for any others

Could this be the Ruth one...

Marriages Dec 1877
Basterfield Charles Dudley 6c 125
Harris Jane Dudley 6c 125
Onions Benjamin Dudley 6c 125
STRINGER Ruth Dudley 6c 125

and

1877
BASTERFIELD Charles STRINGER Ruth Dudley, St Thomas Dudley Register Office 204/034/258

this could be checked at archives by myself to see if father is Edward Sampson
you would need to add it to the look up requests section
