Hi There,

I feel really selfish asking as I am generally a giver. I have been researching for 5 years and have 3 really bad brick walls.

This is my first.

My Geat Grandfather for me has been impossible to trace 100% I have some leads but unless I am 100% sure I leave a blank in the tree.

He is John Tipton 1858 - 1930. Bilston, Staffordshire, England Married to Prescilla Lomas Born Bloxwich, Staffordshire, England ? 1860 (this is definate proven with certificates and census 1911, 1901 1891 ectre)

I have a possibilty that Johns father is John Tipton 1823 but stops there. I wondered if my tiptons might fit into the BCC Tipton Families

Hi

Have not been able to contact cousin yet but have found amongst the info she gave me

Married 1883 march Cannock. Thats from my cousins research. Ooppsss :o I cant find the marriage and there was a child born in 1881 according to whats been passed on to me. This is why it has to be written in stone for me.

On my grandmothers birth certificate it says 23rd Jan 1889 Heath end pelsall. And names Priscilla and John Tipton as the parents John was a Collier.

I know that some where along the line we are related to the Starkey's and therfor to the Beatles.

you could look that up at archives or ask them for a copy not sure what they charge not sure if walsall or staffs archives

Hi Thank you Northern Lass, that tallies with my info for the next census down 1891 but they must have moved to Heath End Goscote Road between 1881 and 1891 it also tallies with 1901 and 1911.

It does not tally with the rest of the family that was passed on to me :o
So John Tipton Senior must have been born around 1814 (not 1823) :?

Hi

Its definalty the wrong John Tipton I had originally

So I am now working with

John Tipton 1814 with a Mary? in the 1861 census.

And again cant find a marriage :?:
