I've found my ancestor James Powell & Caroline on the 1861 census:

James married Caroline Green 1857 at St Martins Church, Tipton, Staffordshire
I found James on the 1841 census living with his family in Ludlow but I've searched and searched the 1851 census but just can't find him anywhere. The other problem is after finding him and his wife on the 1861 census I've been unable to locate either of them on anyother census returns.
I'm wondering would someone kindly double check for me in case i'm missing something.
It's quite possible James died after 1861 but I can't understand why I can't find him on the 1851 census

) that his father was also James. He had a sister Ellen born 1829 Ludlow who married William Green 1855 at the same church in Tipton. William Green according to the 1861 census was also a Blacksmith and seemed from previous census returns to have been married at least once to Rosannah. One of his children was Caroline born abt 1839, Tipton which would fit well with the marriage to James Powell.
