browns 1880's Scotland ARC TBC

Hi all
Am now having difficulty in finding birth certs for the following who appear on census 1891 in Peebles Scotland

Joseph Brown age 7yrs - b. 1883/84
Alexander Brown age 1yr - b.1890ish

Also in the census are James Brown 9yrs and Isabella age 4yrs (my granma) - I have got their birth certs and they were born in Cramond Midlothian

In 1881 their parents John & Jane (scobie) + Janet 6yrs and Jane 9yrs were at 235 West Pilton Farm Cramond Midlothian

What is surprising is that because I only found this info when I entered Isabellas name and age there were only the 4 names and I cannot find their parents John & Jane

I have sifted thro Scotlandspeople and wonder if you can help

I can see this family as :

1881 West Pilton Farm Cramond Midlothian
John Brown 32
Jane Brown 32
Jane Brown 9
Janet Brown 6
Anne Brown 4
Agnes Brown 2
James Brown 3 MO

I wonder if you have picked the right family in 1891? There is also this one which seems to match the 1881 family

Thank you for that info and yes it seems that I had the wrong family - the 1881 census listing was incomplete as I didnt know it went onto the last 3 children and so thought Jane & Janet were the only ones. I should have known also that my granma Isabella would appear in 1891 as she was b in 1886....what a numbhead I am....but thanks for putting me back on the straight path.....all I can say is that you are such a star

She is good Gardener aint she! she put me right!

wasted on carrots and veg patch she is should be a mod on here and take over some of the sections :grin:
