ARC TBC Ethel Eades 1884

Post by snoopysue »

Daughter of David Eades and Isabella Conley. Born 2nd quarter 1884 in Cockermouth, Cumberland during the time father was a Presbytarian Minister there. I can follow her up until 1911, where she's in Gateshead and working as a music teacher, and then I lose her!

I've tried IGI, ancestry, FMP etc, but there could be something I'm overlooking - can anyone help finding out what happens to her?

Thanks

I forgot to say that Ethel's father retired to Surrey, but couldn't see anything there either!

There's a marriage in 1918 in Axbridge, Somerset to a Walter Pettipher. In 1911 there's a Walter Pettipher who's a school teacher living in Barnet, Middlesex.

That's the census I've got - it's what happened to her afterwards I'm interested in!

I'd spotted that one too, looks like I'm going to get hold of that marriage certificate!

A few trees have that Ethel Eades as being born in Bath, Somerset in 1881 parents William Eades and Hephzihah Arthurs.

There is no supporting documentation so I would still go for the certificate.

That ties up with the 1911 census where there's a Ethel Eades down as Head Teacher with Hephzibah as mother. Looks like I'm back to square one :(
