I am SO GLAD that my kids of grown out of that malarky!

I've made two dozen mince pies tonight (Rob, hard pastry is most likely too much water if you ask me) and just took the last-minute-Christmas cake out of the oven (it used up the rest of the mince meat which is perfect). And I made Jamie Oliver's get ahead gravy which is not as good as the made-on-the-day one that I usually do but may improve when the turkey juices go in it. Not sold on the star anise taste that it has.
All bar one present bought so tomorrow should not be too terrible. Going to eat rotten skate at 4pm with a bunch of friends so let the festivities begin.
