Probate (17 Sept. 1849) of the will (dated 23 May 1849) of Thomas Holloway of the Salt Wells, parish of Dudley, Worcs., innkeeper; household goods, stock-in-trade, horse and all tenant right in his premises and baths at the Salt Wells etc., to wife, Margaret Holloway, during widowhood, to continue his business; tenant right in plot of land at Netherton, to son, Henry; 7 freehold messuages in Old Hill, parish of Rowley Regis, subject to mortgage, and 3 other messuages there and 1 in Quarry Bank, parish of Kingswinford (all occupiers given), and tenant right in 2 cottages at Netherton (one occupied by son-in-law, Enoch Hampton), and residue of personal estate, and all estate subject to wife's life interest, upon trust for sale, for the benefit of his 7 daughters (Sylvia, wife of William Mees of Netherton, schoolmaster; Maria, wife of Enoch Hampton of Netherton, blacksmith; Fanny, wife of William Harvey of Smethwick; Eleanor, wife of Thomas Bannister of Newtown, Rowley Regis; Ann, wife of Joseph Clarke of Brierley Hill, higgler; True, wife of Thomas Westwood of Quarry Bank, blacksmith; and Jane, wife of John Rudge of Smethwick, innkeeper); son Henry has option to purchase property left to wife for life at valuation; executors, Thomas Caswell of Wolverhampton, Staffs., pump maker and Henry Cox of Dudley, clerk in Lord Ward's estate office.
