Hi everyone!
I am refraining from comments about the beautiful game( cos it isn't)

and concentrating on the feast that NL has prepared
despite her moaning
it was very nice
So good recipe mally
from a very contented Ed

off to watch a fight now
Regards Ed

I cooked it tonight!! Pork wrapped in bacon. We had no vermouth or white wine so i used Rose. Not bad maybe white wine would have been better but it was nice.
When i opened the door of my stove the smoke came biillowing out as well Northern Lassie!!
Caught it just in time though and i served it with Jacket potatoes, cauliflower,"sperciebonen" ( forgot the English word!) and a salad with Italian dressing.
A couple of Dangerous Liasions(note the spelling) and it was delicious.
Took a photo as well but will put that on later cos match of the days on now!!

So I think this would have been better for the recipe....

That the oven was turned down to about 160 ( 180...)
it was too hot!! ....the fire brigade kept getting called out

That the fillets of Pork were wrapped in foil for 25 mins then foil removed...and bacon wrapped around and cooked then for further 20 mins
perhaps turned too

That would have made the fillet much more succulent
and not burnt the bacon

I then think the sauce was horrible too stodgy
so cornflour better and no oil!
and cook mushrooms in seperate pan

Oh and bit of sugar added to the sauce

just call me Delia

My oven wasn't too hot and I did just as the recipe said, it was beatiful.

.. but of course, it had nothing to do with chef, eh?

 I was late cooking it. Had it for special Sunday lunch with friends. (See how much I trusted you, Mally?)
I had already decided to use a lower heat because I was worried about the bacon burning and put some alfoil on top until last 10 minutes. The slow cooking made the bacon flavour go into the pork. Yum! 'Cos I'm addicted to freshly ground black pepper, I did put rather a lot into the sauce. That went really well with the vermouth. We had it with scalloped potatoes (lots of cream and cheese) and fresh french beans.

Lunch was preceded by several Between The Sheets and accompanied by a nice little Rose. Sorry no photo. For some reason I couldn't get the camera to focus.

Verdict - scrumptious!
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Glad you enjoyed it Di!

I've still got a pork fillet left cos our meal was just for the two of us, I'll probably buy another one & invite the kids
