Family Tree Maker 2012
Apologies is this is covered elsewhere, but I couldn't get a definitive answer when I searched the forum.
Is anyone using FTM 2012 platinum?
What is your opinion of the programme?
Under the T&C are you obliged to order your certs through Ancestry (at double the price)?
Any info gratefully received.
Thanks
David

Re: Family Tree Maker 2012
Not sure if I'm reading it correctly. I think it means if you order them through Ancestry, however, how would they know if I ordered them directly?
Generally I use the GRO for my Certs.

So I read that as if you choose to use them.....so they are not saying you must use them.

Having re-read this, I'm inclined to agree NL. I know you can order the certs through Ancestry and their charges start from £22.99, which is why I go direct to GRO.

I think I was having a bit of a senior moment when I read this
Though I think it is fair to point out to forum users the charges Ancestry are making. I would still like to know forum readers views on FMT 2012.

Re: Family Tree Maker 2012
That sounds like a disclaimer because they cant be held resposible for a wrong certificate. If you provide them with info and they send that cert on to you. Same as if you order yourself from local reg office or GRO you may pick the wrong one! And is easily done too!

Re: Family Tree Maker 2012
I agree its a disclaimer, I mean frankly how would they know you were getting the material form elsewhere anyway?
As regards FMT 2012 as a Mac user I am still waiting for it to appear - now scheduled for the end of the month. Likely will get it direct from Avanquest on a digital download upgrade deal as i have not that longa go bought the FMT 2010 for Mac - crippled because it doesn't sync with the web stuff.

Re: Family Tree Maker 2012
OK, so after a bit of research and reading several reviews on FTM 2012, I have decided to go for it. I have opted for the platinum edition, since I already have a world membership to Ancestry.
Price wise, the cost of this software varies greatly, so if anyone is interested I strongly suggest you shop around.
Examples;
Ancestry £61.27
Amazon £36.97
Avanquest £61.27
PC World £29.99
No prizes for where I'm getting mine from.
