This is how to take care of protestors...

Post by MarkCDodd »

Change of State government....change of Police tactics.

A while ago such protests would have been dealt with by the police standing back and yelling via megaphones for the protestors to move on.

This morning they simply went in and removed them.

Well done!

I think that probably depends on whether you believe that the greedy banks should be allowed to get away with the problems that they have brought to ordinary people or whether ordinary people should be allowed to make their views known.

I certainly know that I think that it is disgusting for bankers to get huge bonuses when the bank has made bad decisions, lost their gambles and then been bailed out by voter's money.

Freedom of expression etc.

No problems for the reason for the protest but they had a week blocking the city!

I definitely get that protesters were causing a disturbance to the city. But how else will they get their message across? Isn't that the point of protesting? But the police also have the right to remove them if they are disturbing the flow of traffic or the functioning of the city.

I do agree with the message of the protestors- that the redistribution of wealth to the wealthy is not fair and that the financial system is not fairly distributed. But I think their real message is getting lost along the way.....
