I'm looking for any information on John Love and Flora Love (m.s. Knox) who moved over from Ireland to Glasgow, Scotland around 1846.
I have census information from 1851 onwards and deaths, but absolutely no details of them in Ireland.
It would be a great start to even find out what part of Ireland they came from.
They had children also born in Ireland and estimated birth years are as follows:
John Love (c. 1819)
Flora Love (c. 1816)
William Love (c. 1839)
Mary Love (c. 1844)
Francis Love (c. 1846)
After this, they had two more children, but census show they were born in Glasgow, Scotland:
Rebecca Love (c. 1847)
Helen Love (c. 1853)
I assume John and Flora were married in Ireland also, but have found nothing about their births or marriage.
Any help offered would be much appreciated! I dont even know where is the best places to search.
thanks
drj

Hi, I wonder if you have looked at these sites? There does seem to be a strong Love family presence in Dublin in and before the 1800's and also Knox, this may be worth a try as a starting point.

The best Irish site is this...but they charge a lot for transcribed records...
http://www.rootsireland.ie/
Having a look they only list one John Love marriage in the correct time period and that is in Co Donegal in 1811.
You would have to pay to view the record.
