Thankyou Mark & Antie Em for all the info.
I think that Joseph may be a 'red herring' though I wonder if he is relative of some sort?... maybe he will connect up to my William Taylor somewhere.
Funny how Henry Street keeps cropping up, because my Dad grew up there ... but the connection would seem to be with the Kettle branch of the family
1937 marriage...St Michael's Church, Langley, Worcs. George Ernest KETTLE(28) bachelor (filer) of
5 Henry St, Langley Green- father Albert KETTLE (dec.) rd. sweeper. Bride Ruth Lydia Mercy Hannah TAYLOR(25) spins.- 48 Walton Rd, Warley, Quinton- father William TAYLOR (lab.) - wit.David & Florence Taylor
Antie Em... don't mind if you throw some spanners in the works ..... best to keep things on track

... it is so easy to get 'thrown off course' isn't it
I had another good look at that school register for Quinton
http://qlhs.org.uk/archive/quinton-nati ... 2-1894.htmand investigated the other Taylors on there ... the Crock Street ones don't look like they are 'mine' as there is another William who is a bit younger .. so I ruled out that family.
The Walter Bayior ( glove cutter) is , I think Taylor not Bayior & I can't see my William in his household.
Still can't find that Elizabeth Taylor.
and I haven't found that William Taylor ( labourer..Quinton) household either
I have emailed Dudley Reg. office to see if they can help me narrow down some potential birth certificates ... thinking that the William Taylor with birth listed as 8th Feb 1878 could be a possible?
Thanks for all your help on this
