COMPLETED 1841 & 1851 Hillman lookups please

Post by SRD »

Would someone be kind enough to lookup a handful of Hillman/Hilman/Illman/Ilman families in Sussex in the 1841 & 1851 census please.

Specifically I'm trying to find the families of:
Thomas & Sarah ILLMAN
Richard & Anne HILMAN
John & Jane ILLMAN
John & Jenny ILLMAN
George & Sarah ILLMAN
Henry & Mary HILMAN
William & Mary HILLMAN
Thomas & Sarah ILLMAN
Humphrey & Frances HILLMAN

But it appears that the spellings are somewhat random, there's even been a Willman.

They would all have been of child bearing age around the turn of the 18th/19th centuries.

Addresses and reference numbers would be appreciated.

Thanks.

 Thanks, actually both would be useful, I was going to just start off with 1841 to see if that gave me the info I needed but the 1851 will be required at some point. I've amended the title.

Thanks Mary Ann, and I'm sure they will be useful in the future, but I do want those who were child bearing at the turn of the 18th/19th centuries, say between 1790 & 1810, so they would be in their late 50s at the youngest, the ones you've found are possibly the children of the ones I'm looking for.

There were no Jenny listed at all on 1841 census.

There are 2 Jane Hillman's on 1841 census, one born 1801 and one born 1811 neither has a husband listed, just children.
There were several other Hillman's on 1841 census that were born in 1790's but not the names you listed, or not with wife you listed. I can give the the names of the others listed on the 1841 if you want. Let me know.

Thanks again maryann, that looks good. I'm not worried too much about those not on the list; at some time or the other, around the end of the 18th, beginning of the 19th centuries (pre census times), those on the list had sons called William, he would have left home, or died, by 1841 but I wanted the rest of the familial connections so that I might rule out those parents of Williams who aren't the ones I'm actually looking for.
