Could be the fly in the ointment but the first daughter is definitely born before the 1865 marriage date.

That would be the safe way. There is a death recorded for a Mary Skidmore in Bakewell in Mar qtr 1865 so theoretically that Benjamin could have remarried pdq.

Don't forget that the Cemetery entry said Ann Maria and Benjamin married in 1865.

We have shown that some of the children who were living with Benjamin and Maria in Wisconsin had Elizabeth (Betsy) Hodgkin as their mother on their death record.

There is not doubt the Benjamin who married Betsy Hodgkin is the same one who married Ann Maria Pugh.

Benjamin Skidmore, son of Benjamin S. and Zilla Morris, born Jan. 1833, bpt. 17 Feb 1833 Wednesbury, marr. in 1856 Betsy b. abt. 1835 West Brom. Betsy perhaps d. 1864 Dudley or perhaps Elizabeth Skidmre 1863 West Br. Married secondly Maria b. Jan 1843 Stourbridge, in 1870 went to Little Black River Township, Taylor County, Wisconsin, naturalized US citizen 1878. In 1871 wife at William Street West Brom., with 3 children of B's first marriage and their own dau. Lucy Skidmore. She joined B. and Minna born c. 1873 Wisconsin. He died of paralysis and old age Holway Township, Taylor County 29 May 1907. Widow - Anna May or Anna Mary in US censuses - still in Taylor County with three youngest daudughters in 1920, older brothers and sisters in Island County. Children of Betsy:
William b. Jan. 1855 living in Chelan County Washington 1900;
Priscilla b. registered 1858 but in US August 1857; known as Zillah, unmarried 1920 living w. brothers Benjamin and Edward in Langley Washington, where died 23 Feb 1922;
Benjamin b. Sept. 1861, in 1890 puddler with bro. Edward in Milwaukee, unmarried still in 1920 in Washington;
Edward b. Oct. 1863, 1900 in Mayville, Clark County, Wisconsin with brother-in-law Ira S. Hawks. Still unmarr. in 1920, died at Langley 21 July 1926.
Children of Maria:
Lucy b. 1870, seems to have married Ira S. Hawks;
Minna b. 1873 Wisconsin;
Elizabeth (Lizzy) b. Mar. 1875 still unmarr. with mother in 1920;
Josiah (Joseph in US 1920 census) b. Sept. 1882;

Benjamin Skidmore of Wednesbury marr. Zillah or Zellah Morris (dau. William and Phoebe Morris? bpt. 1 Sept. 1811 Dudley) 13 June 1831 Walsall. He dies 1832 aged 25, buried Tipton 20 Aug. He may have been the son of John and Ann Skidmore bpt. 19 Apr. 1807 Tipton. Zillah then married Joseph Webb 6 Sept. 1834 Dudley, by whom Zillah had Phoebe Webb , Dudley 1835 and Mary Ann, Wednesbury 1838. Zillah's children were:
John Morris bur. Tipton 28 Feb. 1832 aged 1 of Lea Brook; and Benjamin bpt. 17 Feb. 1833
