Family History Resource File Viewer

Post by grangers14 »

I have had to get a new computer, its driving me nuts!
I have the vital records index but I cant seem to put the viewer in. I keep getting either an error 5 or error 399 and have looked on product support on LDS to help but it hasnt.
This computer is Vista :? Also has word 2007 :?
I'm in such a pickle knowing where what is or isnt.
Apart from putting the whole lot in the bin any ideas where I'm going wrong?
Thanks
Jo :)

Thanks for your reply.
My old computers cd/dvd drive wont work so I couldnt put the cd's in any way. I did try making it work with an older version of windows on the compatability thingy but it didnt help. I tried both the viewer cds I have but neither worked.
I'll email LDS and see if they can help.
Thanks.

I just thought I'd let you know that I did contact LDS about the viewer. I explained what the problem was and I had a reply asking for my full name and address etc. Today I had an email saying that they have sent another viewer for me and any other problems to contact them.
Quick and hassle free from them.
Fingers crossed it works for me now.
