Zacharia Allchurch
Hi,
On BCC there is a tree of Zacharia Allchurch and Elizabeth Randle (link to Angie). My research suggests that this is the Zacharia Brooks (Allchurch), bapt Old Swinford 1 November 1796, the son of John and Priscilla Brookes, who also had a daughter, Sebra, bapt on 27 May 1798.
John and Priscilla were married in St Thomas Church, Dudley on 6 November 1796. Is anyone able to give me any information about the marriage, particularly who their parents were?
All and any help appreciated.
H.

Re: Zacharia Allchurch
Thanks, all.
Although my interest is with the parents of Zacharia and Sebra, for completeness:
Sebra married Joseph Worrall in St Thomas"™ Church, Dudley on 21 December 1828 and they had at least one son, Thomas, who was christened in Old Swinford on 8 November 1829 . No further verifiable records have yet been found of Sebra and Joseph and it is assumed that they died before 1841 as in the cenus (and again in 1851) Thomas is shown living with his grandmother, Priscilla Allchurch (nee Brookes).
Hope this is helpful.

Re: Zacharia Allchurch
Hi
It is impossible to say for sure but I think that dates point towards John not being Zachary's father even though he seems to have acted as his father and Zachary took his name.
Zachary Brooks bpt 1 Nov 1796 Old Swinford, Priscilla Brooks
John and Priscilla married in St Thomas Church, Dudley on 6 November 1796
It seems to me that John and Priscilla could have married and then had Zachary baptised later with them both listed as parents. This way round looks as though it was deliberate?
Personally that would not stop me following the Allchurch line back. But I don't think John can be put down as the father.

Re: Zacharia Allchurch
I cannot disagree that Zacharia may not be the son of John, but it is more than likely as I have found other examples like this in other branches of the family. The 'official' but incomplete history of the All church family accepts him as one of theirs.
As my interest is actually in John and confirming his parentage, I suggest this should be archived for further reference, if necessary
.
Again, thanks to all.
