ARC TBC............Charles Pegg 1815 - Stourbridge

Post by Jane Yarnall »

Hi
I have traced my Pegg family line back from my great great grandfather (Charles Pegg 1870 - Quarry Bank, Staffs) through William Pegg (1850) to Charles Pegg (1815) born in Stourbridge.
I have two questions:
Firstly, on one of the documents it states his address as "the National School House, Sheffield Road, Stourbridge". I've been trying to trace this school, but it doesn't seem to exist! Does anyone know of it?
Secondly, I'm trying to check whether it is the Charles Pegg that married Rebecca and had a son called William - or a different Charles Pegg (1816) who was with Sarah and had a son called William on the 1841 census - does anyone have any proof of the former?

Hi Jane, I have traced that family, they connect to me, see this link:-

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... egg-Family

I haven't come across a Charles Married to a Sarah :?: Can you post the 1841 details please :?:

I have Charles born about 1814 Tamworth and his wife Rebecca Twocock born Limehouse Middx about 1816. They are in Quarry Bank in 1851. I don't have them in 1841, could be the entry you found with a Sarah, maybe he Married twice :?: Or the Sarah could be a transcription error.

Sheffield Street is in Quarry Bank, the School House was probably the Headmaster's Residence, I doubt it is still there, try and Google for Schools in Quarry Bank.

HTH Linell.

Hi Jane, it;s not the same family, my William Pegg was born 1850. That address for 1841 St Andrews is Worcester City. Don't think there is a connection, sorry from Linell.

Thanks - this is really helpful - especially the "Regg". I think that Rebecca is the correct one (my William also 1850) - but have ordered William's birth cert to check.
