I"™ve started to put this on BCC, but I need to check the marriage of James Ward & Isabella Bradley to see if her father Richard is stated as deceased:-

Marriage: 09 May 1869 St Edmund, Dudley (IGI)
James Ward, 18, Father: Joseph Ward
Isabella Bradley, 18, Father: Richard Bradley

Here we have Isabella in the 1861 census:-

1861 - Back Crown Inn, Dudley
William Colly, Head.Mar, 30, Coal Miner, Axbridge, Somersetshire
Maria Colly, Wife, 50, Bilston
Phebe Bradley, Step dau.UM, 16, Gen Serv, Bilston
Richard Bradley, Step son, 14, Coal Miner, Bilston
Isabella Bradley, Step dau, 10, Scholar, Bilston
John Bradley, Step son, 12, Coal Miner

And the 1871 census when Isabella is married:-

1871 Census - 37 Spring Road, Sedgley

Isabela Word/Ward?, Dau.Mar, 20, Worcestershire

All that seems fine, BUT, Isabella"™s mother doesn"™t marry a (James) William Colley until 1868, so why is Maria stated as being married in the 1861 census. Cohabiting??

James William Colley, Father: James Colley
Maria Bradley, No Father"™s name

Will check the marriages at the Archives this week and hopefully finish off.
