Stupid Computer
We've just installed Windows 7, as Vista ended up with frustration and swearing (especially from my other half!). It's solved most of our problems, but I'm a bit fed up when I'm typing in explorer (as on here or Tribal pages).
Now I'm no secretary, so it's 4 fingers at most, and too much looking at the keys, quite often (and mostly just after I've typed a "t"' at the end or middle of a of a word) the cursor will jump to another place in the text, so if I'm not paying attention it ends up as double dutch.
It doesn't happen in Word, or other programs, and it's done it at least 10 times while I've been writing this, and has even managed to delete some of the text, so I had to retype it.
Has anybody got any good ideas to correct this, I'm hoping it's some setting I need to change??

Re: Stupid Computer
I use a laptop, so I'll try connecting my mouse from our old pc (never liked that touch pad thingy any way!) At the moment I haven't turned off the touch pad yet, I was about to say so far so good, but I spoke too soon! Need to find out where I deactivate the touch pad (can't find it under mouse!).

I think it is a loose nut behind the keyboard.
Or a screw loose in front of the screen.
Or one of those annoying eye dee ten tee problems. (id10t).

Re: Stupid Computer
I heard somewhere that 99% of computer problems occur at the interface between the keyboard and the chair.

Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

Strange how it didn't happen in Vista then!
Yes Mark, think yourself lucky that you're so far away

Re: Stupid Computer
Are you sure you're not accidently hitting a button or knocking the mouse when you're typing. My old man had the same problem, so I watched him type and he was banging some button by mistake each time and it kept sending him back to the start of the text.

I've checked that, and the answer's no. It would be very strange if I started hitting the wrong key at the same time we change softwear, it's the same computer and if you read the link Grangers posted then there are loads of people with the same problem!!
