Forget water cannon. What they need is icy-cold sprays of water so the brats get chilled to the bone and go home. Actually, they would probably not want to get their trainers wet either.

They are always the "have nots" who blame everybody else for their predicament.

Anybody who dares lift themselves above the norm is an instant enemy for showing how hard work and the correct attitude can improve your lot.

The busnesses they burn and loot are symbols of people making a go of it and highlight how pathetic their bleating is.

Introduce chain gangs so those caught have to repair what was destroyed.

That's a good idea, a lot cheaper than employing professional builders who know what they're doing.

You don't need a "professional builder" to clear the rubble, carry the bricks, push the wheelbarrows, wash graffiti off walls or a myriad other tasks that cchain gangs are capable of doing.

Use the Australian Convicts as an example. They accomplished a lot under the supervision of the engineers.

Only way these people will understand is if you show that they will not get away with it as in the passes, ie smack on the hand you been a bad lad attitude, weve got plenty of moorland lets build some big basic prison on them in the middle of nowhere with no frills make them suffer like there doing it to honest hardworking people and teach them a hard lesson.

They probably don't have any assets, but if they do then I'm all for it!

Spray them all with indelible dye. Shooting also seems a good idea to me, saves feeding them in prison.

A really good colour like purple, so we'd all know who they were!!
I think I agree on shooting them! Like the idea of a chain gang too, especially if they had to clear up the mess they've made with their bare hands!!

Yes, that was the idea with the dye, purple sounds good to me. I was only slightly tongue in cheek about the shooting, they should have fair warning that shooting will happen and if they choose to continue, that's their look out. No threats of arrest and jail has stopped them, reason won't stop them, so lets try fear. I'm sick to death of it.

Funny thing is, it was raining in Manchester earlier today and it all went quiet. Perhaps they forgot to nick any brollies?

They'd probably be scared to death if they were sent to a real war, and the fact they'd lack the discipline to be even a half way decent soldier.

i wouldn,t want them to be sent to afganistan and the squaddies wouldnt want one of them looking after his back out there.

if the were warned live ammo was going to be used and they persisted, if 4-5 got shot it would make the think twice, at least for the majority of them, most aint stupid they know the system will go soft on them.

The last thing our Armed Forces need is this shower of idiots. My friend, whose son was the youngest soldier killed in Afghanistan and was trying to help injured colleagues at the time, is not happy with the suggestion that these people would be good enough to be part of the tight knit team that they have to be out there.

It's made me sad more than anything (although I can't pretend to not be angry).

On the more positive side a lot of people gave up time to clear up the mess, and the papers today report various places where groups of people chased off the looters.
