A really good read

Post by BC Wench »

I've just finished reading a really good book "Guard A Silver Sixpence" by Felicity Davis. Felicity "Flic" writes about her own life, but also delves into her family history in the Barnsley area. I can highly recommend it.

It must be popular all the libraries in Kirklees have some copies and they are all out , so I have put a hold on it and I should get the first one that is returned. :-)

Sounds like a reet good read that does. I might have to see if I can pick it up when I go into town this weekend to get the lad some new shoes for next year. Cheers for that. :-)

I was just wondering the same thing, my sister and I used to go see him at Batley Vatiety Club.

I have put a hold on the book at the library and I am 2nd in line. :-)

Maybe it should read Gene Pitney junior?
Maybe it''s his son?

Can`t I cry? A little bit.
There`s nobody to notice it.
Can`t I cry if I want to
No one cares?
Why can`t I pretend,
That you love me again?
All I`ve had has been taken from me.
Now I`m crying, and tears don`t become me.
Just one smile, the pain`s forgiven.
Just one kiss, the hurt`s all gone.
Just one smile, to make my life worth livin'.
A little dream to build my world upon.

Can`t I cry? A little bit. Yeh if you want to
There`s nobody to notice it. True
Can`t I cry if I want to Yeh
No one cares? Very true
Why can`t I pretend, You can if you really want to
That you love me again? I'll think about that
All I`ve had has been taken from me. Aah
Now I`m crying, and tears don`t become me. Oh I wouldn't say that
Just one smile, the pain`s forgiven. Ah bless
Just one kiss, the hurt`s all gone. Will a kiss on the hand do?
Just one smile, to make my life worth livin'. Oh go on then
A little dream to build my world upon. You can have a large dream if you like
